Privacy notice
This draft explains how I Want To Learn handles personal data during the private beta. It needs founder review before the first external testers are invited.
Who is responsible

What we collect
- Email address, optional name, optional age range and learning interests from the waitlist or profile.
- Learning activity, including plans, packs, quiz answers, practice-task submissions, reactions and progress.
- Safety and guard events, including short excerpts needed for review when a request is blocked or escalated.
- Generation telemetry such as model name, token counts, estimated cost, latency and quality-gate outcomes.
- Essential auth cookies used to keep you signed in, plus an admin access cookie for founder tools.
How we use it
- To provide the beta learning service and remember your progress. Lawful basis: contract.
- To send magic-link sign-in emails. Lawful basis: contract.
- To review blocked or unsafe attempts and keep the beta safe. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.
No marketing emails are sent in this beta. There are no ads and no sale of personal data.
Processors
The beta uses Vercel to host the app, Supabase West EU for database and authentication, Fasthosts for email, and OpenRouter to process learning content when live generation is enabled.
Retention and deletion
During the beta, data is kept until account deletion, a beta reset, or the end of the private beta. You can ask for deletion by emailing hello@iwanttolearn.co.uk.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, port or object to use of your personal data. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
